Costuming/Jewelry Information
Tribal and Fusion costumes are made up of a mix of items locally handmade, purchased online and found in thrift stores etc. Some useful general links for online costume purchases below - if you are ever contemplating a purchase and are not certain of it's normal value or usefulness to Tribal/Fusion styles of belly dance feel free to send me a link, I'm happy to put my many hours of belly dance costume shopping experience to work to save you paying over the odds or getting a 'fake' item :)
We also regularly purchase items in bulk as a group to save on postage, we use the student facebook group to organize this.
Check out the Firefly Belly Dance Pinterest Boards for an idea of the different aesthetic for each style:

Zills/Zils/Finger Cymbals
These musical instruments are most often played by Tribal dancers but also uses in other styles. They come in a variety of sizes and range in price from $10 a pair to over $100.
The best quality zills are manufactured by Saroyan Cymbals
Locally zills can be purchased from the world music store Gandarva Loka at 363 St Asaph St for around $30.
I would recommend starting with a small light pair initially to avoid any strain on your hands & wrists while learning - then test out other people's sets in class to see the sound/size/weight that suits you.
