Tracey of Firefly Belly Dance in Christchurch specializes in Tribal and Tribal Fusion styles of belly dance. As the director/choreographer/principal teacher of Firefly Belly Dance Tracey enjoys adding quite a lot of sparkle to her tribal and fusion belly dance performances, and she can frequently be found performing at events in Christchurch, around NZ and as far afield as Las Vegas, from intimate restaurant settings through to large scale public events and festivals. Recent performance highlights include performing a the Tribal Massive Showcase in Las Vegas, performing alongside Ganga Giri on the main stage at Luminate Festival and regular performances at popular cabaret shows in Christchurch and Wellington.
Tracey regularly travels internationally to undertake intensive training with Tribal and Fusion Belly Dance superstars including Rachel Brice, Zoe Jakes, Kami Liddle, Mira Betz, Jill Parker, Sharon Kihara, Suhalia Salimpour and Amy Sigil. Aaralyn’s love of dance is matched by her love of learning, and this ensures that she will continue to learn from local teachers, and travel to train with international tutors to further her own skills and abilities.
Having recently completed teacher training for American Tribal Style® Belly Dance (ATS®), Firefly Belly Dance is now the South Island's only registered Sister Studio to FatChanceBellyDance®. Tracey also holds a degree in education and a post graduate qualification in project management, so you can be sure classes will be well structured to maximize learning!
Tracey is committed to providing a safe, fun and challenging class environment for her students, and is proud to play a part in providing an environment where students of all ages and abilities can enjoy themselves, make lasting friendships and express themselves creatively.
Troupe Biography
The Firefly Belly Dance Performance Troupe is an experienced professional dance troupe and has performed around the country at events large and small including annually at Coca Cola Christmas in the Park since 2012.
Troupe members attend regular classes, practices and workshops to improve and refine their skills. To extend their dance repertoire and skills these dancers have also attended workshops with international tutors including Kami Liddle, April Rose, Kristine Adams and Deb Rubin from the USA, Devi Mamak, Evangeline Feary & Melusina from Australia.
