NZ Dance Week Showcase Performer Application
The 2019 NZ Dance Week Christchurch Showcase will take place on Sunday 5 May from 6pm at the Papa Hou Theatre at the YMCA on Hereford St.
The showcase is sponsored by Dance Aotearoa NZ (DANZ) and Sport NZ as part of DANZ's annual NZ Dance Week which is a national event which celebrates and strives to raise awareness of all forms of dance in Aotearoa.
Local dance groups are invited to submit an application for one of the 14 performance slots available, the performance slots are 5mins each and there is a donation available to each participating group of $100.
The purpose of the showcase is to give local dance groups the opportunity to perform in front of the general public to promote their dance style and to encourage participation in dance in general, and to offer the public an opportunity to see a variety of dance performances in one place for the subsidized entry rate of a gold coin donation. In 2018 this showcase was very well attended & successful in part due to the collaboration of participating groups in promoting the event through their own networks and social media platforms - to ensure this year's event is just as successful we're keen to include groups who will engage with the aims of the event and actively help with its promotion.
